GEAR UP Program<\/strong><\/p>\n

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities<\/strong>
\nKnowledge of and competence in tutoring various core subject areas.
\nInterpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
\nAbility to collaborate with students to enhance their knowledge in junior high and\/or high school level courses.
\nAbility to work with GEAR UP personnel and school staff at their assigned schools, colleges, or other locations.
\nSkills in effective tutoring of students of all ages.
\nAbility to use initiative, demonstrate dependability, and use time constructively.
\nAbility to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals and to communicate effectively.
\nRequired Qualifications<\/strong>
\nHigh School Diploma or GED required<\/p>\n

Preferred Qualifications<\/strong>
\nFluency in Spanish, both speaking and writing.
\nPhysical Requirements<\/strong>
\nRequires the ability to stand, walk, sit, hear, see, and talk on a regular basis. Requires fine hand manipulation in the use of computers.

\nBenefits Summary<\/strong>
\nYou may be eligible for a 3 credit hour or 1 class tuition waiver after 6 consecutive months of employment and a minimum of 475 hours worked. Dependents do not qualify for a waiver.
\nPay Range<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 $9.00 – $11.25 based on the number of college core credits completed.<\/p>\n
