Organization Description:<\/strong>\u00a0Teens Act is a nonprofit based in Provo with the mission to empower underserved high school students to graduate from high school and go on to higher education. It works in the Provo Districts and is expanding, and is looking for an intern to help with media work. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in this area while also helping improve the prospects of struggling students in our community. Hours are flexible and working from home is an option.<\/p>\n

Teens Act Program Coordinator Intern\u00a0—\u00a02 positions available<\/strong><\/span>
\nWe are looking for passionate individuals who can assist the Directors in implementing the Teens Act programs. Our goal is to empower about 200 underserved high school students in the Provo School District and beyond.
\nResponsibilities:<\/strong>
\n\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Assist in supporting a Student Success Class, which is an elective class during school hours at Provo High, and Independence High School
\n\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Assist with the Afterschool Mentoring Program and Parents Support Program at each school.
\n\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Assist in recruiting necessary volunteer mentors and other community volunteers by working with universities and community partners

We are looking for passionate individuals who can assist the Director(s) in implementing the Teens Act program as mentors to tutor our students at local high schools in the Provo School District.<\/p>\n

Responsibilities:<\/strong>
\n\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Mentor students with their schoolwork, homework, credit recovery and leadership skills in a Teens Act classroom,\u00a0 in other school classes\/programs, after school programs, individually, and\/or through Parent Support.
\n\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Work with the student and teacher(s) to ensure the best learning environment for our students.

Teens Act Family Support Mentor Intern —\u00a04 positions available<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

We are looking for passionate individuals who can assist the Director(s) in implementing the Teens Act program services. At Teens Act we know that parents are critical to the success of their children. We work hard to involve them in as much of the educational process as possible.<\/p>\n

Meetings with parents both at home and school equip parents with the vision and skills necessary to nurture their students\u2019 quest for higher education. At these meetings we discuss the students needs, their grades, Teens Act curriculum, learning outcomes and program services, and of course post secondary and higher education plans.<\/p>\n

Assigned mentors call parents monthly, visit homes as needed and have quarterly meetings at school to update them on student progress and address any specific individual needs. We also connect with other parent support programs in the schools and communities that we work in.
\nResponsibilities:<\/strong>
