This position will offer experience in many different facets of writing and PR while working a variety of major projects in a fun team environment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hours: 10-20 hours per week, flexible schedule.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Duration: One semester or longer<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location: 771 East Winchester, Murray, UT 84107<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Preferred: Students who must complete an internship as part of their degree program<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES<\/strong><br \/>\nReporting to the Communications Manager, the Communications intern will have the following responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Edit and update website<\/li>\n<li>Compose Press Releases and PSAs<\/li>\n<li>Write stories about wishes<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with media regarding PR opportunities<\/li>\n<li>Assist with grant writing<\/li>\n<li>Assist with media campaigns for various promotions &amp; fundraisers<\/li>\n<li>Manage media lists and community calendars<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Excellent writing and editing skills<\/li>\n<li>Attention to detail<\/li>\n<li>Proficient with Word, Excel, Office<\/li>\n<li>Some knowledge of graphic design and web design software (e.g. Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop, etc.), or willingness and aptitude for learning new programs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>BENEFITS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Opportunity to attend wish-related events, wish family activities and fundraising events<\/li>\n<li>Resume credit with a nationally recognized nonprofit organization.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">TO APPLY\u00a0 ~~\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Email resume and cover letter to: <\/span><\/strong><a href=\"mailto:jhortin@utah.wish.org\">jhortin@utah.wish.org<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>About Make-A-Wish Utah<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
