Hope4Utah (Suicide Prevention in Schools) Internship Opportunity

Hope4Utah is an educational organization that combines the efforts of schools, communities, and mental health services for suicide prevention. We work with school advisors to train groups of students, called Hope Squads, to recognize warning signs of suicide in their peers, reach out to them, and seek help from adults.

Internship Description:

 1 – Curriculum Development

∙ Compile research pertaining to suicide prevention

∙ Write and edit drafts of educational materials under the supervision of the curriculum specialist

∙ Create and update presentations using PowerPoint and Prezi

∙ Brainstorm engaging activities for students

∙ Analyze strengths and weaknesses of current curriculum

 Qualifications

∙ Must be enrolled in a college or university or recently graduated

∙ Research and writing skills

∙ Reliable, organized, and communicative

∙ Bonus: experience in education (e.g., creating lesson plans, teaching)

 2 – Events

∙ Assist with event planning, setup, management, etc.

∙ Organize annual community suicide prevention walk (Walk4Hope)

∙ Other related projects as assigned

Qualifications

∙ Must be enrolled in a college or university or recently graduated

∙ Reliable, organized, and communicative

∙ Experience planning and managing events
