What is Libertas Institute?
Libertas Institute is a 501(c)3 non-profit “think tank” and educational organization. Their mission is to change hearts, minds, and laws to build a freer society by creating and implementing innovative policy reforms and exceptional educational resources. Interested interns must be interested in and familiar with the political process, able to commit to a consistent schedule, very high attention to detail, and excellent research and writing skills.
When will I work? Internships available Winter 2023, Spring/Summer 2023, Fall 2023
What are the qualifications?
Minimum one year experience in policy research or related work, such as practicing/studying law in the policy area. (Internships may be considered experience.)
Excellent research, oral and written skills
An entrepreneurial, collaborative mindset
Able to commit to a consistent schedule
Very high attention to detail
Fellows are provided a monthly stipend, contingent upon the type (part- or full-time) and duration of the fellowship.
How much will I get paid? Full-time participants receive $1,600 a month and part-time participants (20 hours a week) receive $800 a month. Unpaid part-time internships are generally always available for college credit or experience as well.
What will I be doing in the internship?
–Research assigned policies spanning a broad spectrum of subjects
— Compile, sort, and analyze data
— Prepare reports and summarize data
— Write articles on assigned topics
— Attend meetings to observe and take notes
