This job announcement was sent out in an department email earlier in July, but I wanted to make sure it was listed on our blog as well.

Part-time paid pre-school positions available for fall semester:
 
Discovery Kids Academy  (Formerly Riverwoods Learning Center)
Owner: Heather Rindlisbacher (hrindlis@hotmail.com)
(beginning mid-August 2013 through May 2014)

Requirements:
*Must be 21, have at least 12 credit hours of coursework specifically relating to child development, and be willing/able to attend a 40 hour class September 30th through October 4th from 8 AM to 5 PM, we will pay for this course
*Must have prior experience working in a child care environment
*Supervisory experience (in any setting) preferred
*Must be willing to commit to the position through May 2014

1)     Assistant Director/Lead Teacher
Work Hours: 20-25 hours per week (prefer mornings, but can be flexible)
Compensation: $9-$10 per hour DOE
Job Responsibilities:
The assistant director will serve as lead teacher for our 3-4 year old class group as well as fulfilling administrative duties including supervision of assistant teachers, learning and enforcing licensing rules and regulations, and basic bookkeeping duties (entering receipts and tuition payments).

2)     Lead Teacher: 2 positions available
Work Hours: 15-20 hours per week, either mornings or afternoons,  requires Monday-Friday availability
Compensation: $7.50 hour/starting, increases to $8 per hour after orientation & required training/paperwork is finished
Job Responsibilities:
Direct a class group of 8-10 children ranging in age from 2-6 including basic care activities (may include diaper changing).  Plan and carry out developmentally appropriate learning activities in accordance to existing curriculum.  Perform assessments on children.   Meet with parents for a parent-teacher conference each semester.

3)     Substitute Teacher
Work Hours: On Call, any time between 8 AM and 6 PM (can guarantee an intern 6 hours per week)
Pay: $7.50-$8 per hour
Job Responsibilities:
Fill in for teachers who are absent or cover for teachers who are doing prep work.  Assist with office duties as needed.
