Help Me Grow Utah is a parent information network that links families and community providers to child development information and resources throughout Utah. We partner with United Way to offer students a real-world internship experience by giving responsibilities to make connections and build relationships with families over the phone who have parenting and child development questions and concerns as well as researching community agencies throughout the state that offer service to families. We serve families with children birth through age 8.
Applicants must be a bachelor’s seeking student in a related field and have a We require a full semester commitment and a minimum of 15-20 hours per week.
Responsibilities of interns may include:
- Work with parents over the phone and connect them to community and informational resources
- Contribute to social media platforms
- Participate in occasional family events and monthly parenting classes
- Attend weekly team meetings
- Research and uncover new community and informational resources
- Score and process developmental screenings (ASQ-3) for children ages 0-5 years
- Additional projects to further strengthen and support families and the community
Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Master’s Degree seeking student
- High interest in family support and community involvement
- Comfortable talking on the phone
- Comfortable navigating the internet
- Accurately enter information into database system (after training)
- Composing professional emails
- Familiarity with social media platforms
- Willing to work 15-20 hours/week
